If you’re going to the Riders, REDBLACKS game Saturday night, be sure to come with non-perishable food items.
The annual Purolator Tackle Hunger game day food drive is back at Mosaic Stadium.
Purolator’s Karen White-Boswell said historically, Regina has embraced the event with open arms.
“They absolutely have, and they’ve really shown that they care about their community and we’re hoping even more so this year, we really like to challenge our teams to really go above and beyond,” White-Boswell said.
Nearly a million Canadians rely on local food banks every month.
Since the program began in 2003, about 12-million pounds of food have been collected across Canada.
White-Boswell said collection will be taking place in Confederation Park during pre-game festivities.
